104 KRBE I Do Island Contest Rules

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR TO WIN.

ELIGIBILITY:  Participation in the contest is limited to unmarried, female legal residents of the State of Texas, 18 years of age or older who are eligible to obtain a marriage license from the county clerk of any county in Texas.  Finalists must be planning to marry prior to April 29, 2007 in order to participate in this contest.  Employees of 104 KRBE, Susquehanna Radio Corp., John Eagle Auto Group, & Al’s Formalwear, their affiliated companies, tenants, advertising and promotion agencies, and the immediate family members of each are ineligible to participate

THIS CONTEST IS SCHEDULED to begin Sunday, March 26, 2006 at Midnight and will end Friday, March 31, 2006 at 9 am.  KRBE (104 KRBE) reserves the right to stop the contest at any time.

IF, AFTER THE CONTEST HAS BEGUN, changes or updates to the contest are deemed necessary, the changes will be announced on KRBE-FM, 104.1 on the day that the change is to take effect.  In addition, an addendum outlining the changes will be printed and made available in the station lobby and on the KRBE website at www.104krbe.com.

TO ENTER: Log onto 104KRBE.com between Midnight Monday, February 27, 2006 and Midnight, Monday, April 13, 2006 and complete the application for entry.  Applications may be downloaded and emailed to IDOISLAND@104KRBE.com, or faxed to 104 KRBE, “I Do Island Contest” at 713-954-2331.  Up to 45 Eligible entrants will be selected by KRBE Judges and invited to attend a personal interview the week of March 13, 2006. Entrants will be invited to be interviewed by 104 KRBE based on the originality and cleverness of their application.   A criminal background check will be conducted on all persons selected to be interviewed.  Each must pass the background check to the satisfaction of 104 KRBE to have the opportunity to participate further in this contest.

TO WIN: A minimum of 10 finalists will be selected by designated KRBE judges, based on their original application, a 25 word essay, individual interviews, originality, cleverness, personality, adaptability, congenial nature and an overall outgoing attitude exhibited during the interview process. Decisions of the judges will be final in all matters.   KRBE will attempt to notify each finalist on or before 10 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2006.  Alternates will be selected in order of preference from the remaining persons interviewed, in the event that any of the finalists is unable to participate in the game portion of the contest.  In the event that a person selected to be a finalist is unable to participate in the game portion of the contest, that person will forfeit any opportunity to participate further in the contest and will not be eligible to win any prize including the grand prize.  All participating finalists must have a finace willing to participate in the contest.  If a finalists fiance fails to participate in a specifically requested challenge, that finalist will be removed from the contest. 

THE GAME: Begins on Saturday, March 25, 2006.  Finalists will be requested to assemble at John Eagle Honda Super Center, 18787 Northwest Freeway, Houston, TX 77065 to begin the check – in procedure.  Any finalist unable to arrive by the time designated by KRBE will be excluded from the contest.  Check in procedure will include, but not be limited to, a through explanation of the contest and contest rules, completion of release forms, and a search of contestants and their belongings.  During the contest, the finalists must remain inside of a specified and marked area (to be known as the “island”) at John Eagle Honda, for a minimum of 130 hours from the time they check – in on March 25, 2006 until Friday, March 31, 2006 at 9 a.m.; unless, (i) they have been asked to leave (voted off), been allowed off of the “island” (ii) to participate in a challenge/activity (iii) have received a special exit pass as a prize for successfully completing a challenge (iv) they must leave in the event of medical or family emergency.  In the event a finalist leaves the “island” for a medical or family emergency, that finalist will not have an opportunity to return to the game, nor will they be eligible to win any future prizes in the game.  At Check-in, the finalists will receive specific instructions from 104 KRBE judges as to what specific items may be brought onto the “island.”  Items not specifically listed will not be allowed onto the “island.”  If a finalist leaves the island because of an emergency or for any reason not authorized by these rules or the contest judges, she will not be allowed to continue in the contest and will be ineligible to win the prize.  If a finalist voluntarily leaves the island within the first 24 hours, or cannot fulfill the obligations of the contest, 104 KRBE may place one of the alternates onto the “island.”  Finalists may not bring anything onto the “island” other than the items they are instructed to bring, clothing they are wearing at check-in (layering is NOT permitted), some form of ID, and any medical related needs (i.e. – sanitary items, prescription drugs) which will be kept by KRBE Promotions.  Each finalist will be frisked by KRBE personnel prior to entering the “island” to ensure that this provision is met.  While on the island, finalists will have access to a portable toilet facility.   A limited amount of toilet paper will be provided to each finalist. There will be no television and phone usePortable electronic devices of any kind are not allowed, and possession of such items would lead to immediate dismissal of the offending contestant.  104 KRBE will provide finalists with at daily water ration.  Beginning on Monday, March 27, 2006 finalists will be removed from the “island” at 104 KRBE’s discretion.  104 KRBE Personnel will describe the manner in which contestants will be removed from the island.  It is possible that contestant removal process will change at every elimination round.  This process will continue until only two finalists remain.  Any contestant/finalist who has been designated for removal must leave the “island.”  And will be eliminated from the contest and will be ineligible to win the contest.  The outcome of the removal process will be announced on 104 KRBE.   All decisions of the KRBE judges are final.  While on the island finalist may be formed into teams and asked to perform a series of tasks as determined by 104 KRBE.  The team that best performs the designated task (as determined by 104 KRBE) may be rewarded with additional supplies or immunity from being voted off the “island.“   104 KRBE may add certain elements to the contest to agitate the group such as looped audio and video that runs 24 hours straight or for hours on end.  From the last two remaining finalists on the island, the winner of the contest will be determined by a vote.  The final three finalist to be voted off the “island,” each of whom will get one vote on the Bridal Jury.  There will be two additional votes cast by two guest judges, who will be determined by 104 KRBE.  In the event of a tie; meaning someone abstains from voting or does not return, the final winner will be determined by who has received more “comfort points” during the course of the game.   In order to win the contest, a finalist must have actively participated in the entire length of the contest, as determined by KRBE.    If no finalist remains in the island for the  duration of the contest, no one will win the contest and Grand Prize will not be awarded.  The length of the contest can be shortened at the sole discretion of the 104 KRBE.

A web camera and/or microphone will monitor activities of the finalists.  24-hour security will also be provided for the duration of the contest.  Finalists will be responsible for any damage caused to the “island” and all items therein.  Finalists may be monitored by video and audio 24 hours a day for the duration of the contest.  Finalists are not allowed to tamper with any monitoring equipment including, but not limited to: computer equipment, microphones, cables, and video equipment.  Finalists are not permitted to engage in any sexual activities or sexual contact during the contest.  No smoking is allowed on the “island.”  Finalists who are considered a physical or mental threat to the well being of the other finalist may be eliminated from the contest, in which case they will be ineligible to win the grand prize.  If a finalist fails to comply with any of the contest rules that person risks ejection from the contest and forfeiture of any prize. 

PRIZES: During the contest, prizes and incentives may be given to those finalists who successfully complete given challenges which will be assigned.  The contest winner will receive a $10,000 cash award and “wedding themed” prizes (e.g. – groom’s tux, bridal gown, honeymoon trip, photography services or wedding cake) for a grand prize package with a minimum of $10,000.  104 KRBE reserves the right to award only award the cash prize of $10,000.  The prizes listed are only examples of what the winner may receive.  Actual wedding themed prizes to be awarded will be determined at time of prize redemption.  Winner must furnish KRBE with a copy of their valid marriage license prepared by the county clerk under Texas law, in order to receive any cash prize, all other non-cash prizes will be awarded on Friday, March 31, 2006.

ONLY ONE FINALIST PER HOUSEHOLD IS PERMITTED

Void where prohibited by law.  All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.

The winner will be required to pay any and all local, state, federal, and additional taxes, tips or fees, insurance, licensing, registration and title fees incurred with respect to their prize.  All fees are the sole responsibility of the winner.

No transfers or substitutions of the prize will be allowed.  Cash will not be awarded in lieu of non-cash prizes.  The winner must claim all prizes within 24 hours of winning the prize.   

By completing and emailing/faxing the entry form, entrants agree to be bound by these official rules and the decisions of the judges.  Decisions of the judges are final in all matters relating to the contest.  Additional contest procedures and definition will be outlined before the start of the contest.  104 KRBE reserves the right to giveaway more prizes than stated. 

Participation in the contest constitutes permission by each finalist and the person they intend to marry to have their picture and biographical information posted on the KRBE website for KRBE, contest sponsors and agencies to use the finalists name and/or likeness, their winnings, their picture and voice for purpose of advertising and trade without notice, further compensation or further permission unless prohibited by law. 104 KRBE reserves the right to all video, audio, photographic or print material which involves the finalist for promotional use without further permission or compensation and finalists agree to participate with the station and its advertising agencies in publicizing or broadcasting finalists names, winnings, pictures or character likeness’ without further compensation.

Winner will be required to fill out an affidavit of eligibility/release of liability/prize acceptance form prior to the time of prize delivery.  Winner must have their social security number and proper identification in person to pick up the prize unless additional specific contest rules specify differently. 

Each finalist must sign a release acknowledging that by participating in this contest, she agrees to waive any and all claims for damages for death, personal injury, loss of property or property damage that he or she may sustain as a result of his or her participation in the contest or the use of any prize and to release and hold harmless Susquehanna Pfaltzgraff Co., Susquehanna Radio Corp., Radio Station KRBE, all contest sponsors and each of their respective directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability arising out of or connected in any way with his or her participation in the contest, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons or entities mentioned above.

ALL DECISIONS OF STATION MANAGEMENT with regard to the awarding of the prizes, the selection of the winner and the interpretation of these rules shall be final.  Each contestant, by virtue of entering the contest, agrees to accept the decision of the station as final.

If by reason of error, more prizes are claimed than the number set forth in these rules, all persons making purportedly valid claims will be included in a random drawing to award the advertised number of prizes.  No more than the advertised number of prizes will be awarded.

104 KRBE, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process or who is otherwise in violation of the contest rules.  It further reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify the contest if it is determined that it is not capable of completion as planned for any reason.
