  Section 3: Supplemental Recruitment Activities Taken by Station

Employment Outreach Activities

  • Sponsored two student for the Emma Bowen Scholarship.

  • Sponsored a high school student internship.

  • Sponsored several college student internships.

  • Featured a High School of the Week each week in the evening broadcast during the fall and spring of the school year.  High School student leaders were selected to come to the station and interact with the on-air announcer.

  • Featured live broadcasts from high school football games called Friday Night Live in the evening broadcast during the football season of September - November 2005

  • Gave many tours of the station for Girl Scout troops, Boy Scout troops, and other school organizations.

  • Participated in events at various area colleges and schools.

  • Participated in American Women in Radio & Television events.

  • Participated in Houston Ad Federation events.

  • A corporate officer represented the station at the National Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation Radio Career Fair.

  • An employee spoke about radio broadcasting at the Sam Houston State University Annual Leadership Conference sponsored by the National Broadcasting Society.

  • Sent Mobile 104 to activities and many schools.
