ELECTION DAY VOTING INFORMATION
If you
live in Harris County, you can find
where to vote on Election Day by using
this page, based on the home address you
listed when you registered to vote.
First,
please note the following important
information:
-
You
are entitled to vote without being
harassed or intimidated by anyone.
-
Bring
personal identification with you to
the polls (driver's license,
government ID, bank statement or
utility bill).
-
You do
NOT need your voter registration
card. (Of course, you DO need to be
registered.)
-
Each
poll will have a list of elgible
voters for that location. If your
name is not on that list, the
election worker should call the
Elections Office to see if your
registration can be located.
-
If you
are told that you cannot vote
because your name is not on the
list, or because your identification
is not accepted, you must be allowed
to cast a "provisional ballot". A
provisional ballot is not counted
until after the election, at which
time election officials will
determine whether you were properly
registered to vote.
-
If
records show you have moved, you can
vote by signing an address
confirmation.
-
You
have the right to receive a
demonstration of voting equipment
before voting.
-
If you
are disabled or are over the age of
65, you have the right to an
accessible polling place and help in
voting.
-
You
may bring written materials into the
voting booth to assist you as you
cast your ballot.
If anyone
challenges your right to vote:
-
Ask
for the name of the person who is
denying you the right to vote and
write it down.
-
Ask to
talk to a supervisor and lodge a
complaint or call the Harris County
Elections Office at: 713-368-POLL
(7055)
-
Call
the Harris County Democratic Party
at 713-802-0085 and report your
complaint.
